Had the opportunity of filming the St. Aloysius College Soiree Promotional Video for this year's performance "WICKED". It is such an experience working with students to create something simple, but quite effective when it comes to promoting a school production. Here is the official which I shot and post-produced within 48 hours.
Recently shot a cover video for an upcoming Maltese band called The New Victorians. I back-lit both artists (Philippa and Bettina Cassar) and it gave a very warm and rich quality to the picture. The space we shot in was a visual aid as it there were many interesting elements within this garage that set the mood for this song.
Finally managed to get my hands on the TassinFlat colour profile for the Nikon D7000. The latitude of colours is greatly increased with this simple adjustment, and gives more room to colour correct images as blacks and whites aren't crushed, thus giving leeway to enhance darker tones to one's liking.
I am currently looking to further my studies in Film, therefore I will be starting my tuition at the MET Film School as of October 2013
I have recently finished production on my new short film "Blown Away". It's a clean and simple love story situated in Malta. Due to be released mid-June 2012
Yet another test film with the Nikon D7000. This was done as part of a college assignment and my main focus was on the use of sound to create a particular mood and atmosphere.
All the shots shown here are shot with with available light at night with the following lenses:
- Nikkor 35mm f/1.8
- Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8
Sony Pictures Sound Effects Library
Free Play Music LLC
Adobe Premiere Pro CS5
Manfrotto Tripod with the 501HDV head
PRO-AIM 4ft slider
Together with my school colleagues, we are in the process of pre-producing the new corporate videos for the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology and also the creation of visuals to support the Karl Jenkins' "Stabat Mater" (performed at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Malta).
Through countless meetings, we have developed innovative ways of taking a normal film medium and creating something artistic and simplistic.
I've recently purchased the PROAIM DSLR RIG. I am pleasantly surprised with the build quality on this product as the price is relatively cheaper than leading brands such as REDROCK MICRO, SHOOT 35 and JAG 35. I look forward to uploading test shots in the coming weeks.
This production was in collaboration with Teatro Zazz, Malta for the Marinando Festival. This is a very artistic dance choreographer by Caroline Carta. This production gave a chance to put my dslr through a very rigorous test by using a 35mm f/1.8 lens and at the same time, trying to keep the shot in focus manually, without any assistance from follow focus rigs.
Work is underway to structure my dissertation to be handed in next June 2012. I've chosen a subject which, I feel, has been my strong point for a number of years, and that is the technical aspect, with specific reference to the new DSLR technology in FILM. Let's see where this will take me.....
